Mumbai Style Jalapeno Jam Sandwich

Ingredients (for 2 sandwiches):

  • 4 slices white or sandwich bread
  • 2 tbsp The Sensory Project Jalapeño Jam
  • 2 tbsp green chutney (mint-coriander)
  • 1 boiled potato (sliced thin)
  • 1 small cucumber (sliced thin)
  • 1 small tomato (sliced thin)
  • 1 small beetroot (boiled and sliced thin, optional)
  • 2 tbsp Salted butter (or any salted butter)
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp black pepper (optional)
  • 2 slices processed cheese or ¼ cup grated cheese (optional)

Process:

  1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Spread green chutney on two slices and Jalapeño Jam on the other two.
  3. Layer the potato, cucumber, tomato, and beetroot over the chutney.
  4. Sprinkle chaat masala and black pepper on top.
  5. Add cheese if using, and close the sandwich with the Jalapeño Jam slice on top.
  6. Toast on a pan or sandwich press until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Slice and serve hot with ketchup or extra chutney.
